The week after Easter brings the first Major of the year; we’ll see The Masters Golf Tournament commencing on 5th  April.

Foxtel has a 24 hour Masters Channel that includes some old archives that are a must see. If you don’t have Foxtel at home, it will be running in the Bunker Café for all to see.

Tiger Woods will play his first Masters in 3 years, going for his 5th green jacket coming off some good results. His short game is sharp and the wide fairways will be to his advantage. My bet is he’ll finish in the top 10, but I can’t see him winning.

Top Aussie in the competition I would have to say, is Marc Leishman. He has been in contention in the Masters twice and lost The Open in a playoff.

Marc Leishman

They say you have to lose a Grand Final before you win one. Jason Day is the best putter on tour, but with a wedge in his hand, he ranks 193rd in proximity to the hole

Adam Scott

and 103rd from 125 yards to 150 yards. Whoever wins will be hitting their scoring irons under the hole. A good example is Adam Scott who is 2nd in greens in regulation from 125 yards. Can he win another green jacket?… I hope so, but there’d be a better chance if he had Jason Day putting for him. Adam Scott is currently 205th in putting on the PGA Tour.

Then there’s Rory… can he win and complete his Grand Slam? There’s as a good a chance as ever with Jordan currently having putting troubles and Dustin Johnson losing all 3 games in the match play this week. The others I would put money on would be two time winner, Bubba Watson, as well as putting great, Justin Thomas, who hits it 350 yards. Lastly there’s last year’s runner up, Justin Rose, who I call ‘Mr Consistency!’.

Have a great long weekend everyone!

Happy Golfing (and Happy Easter),
