Well who wants to play golf in the mud!?

Why not take advantage of the wet weather and get up to the TGC undercover range and work on your game.
Thornleigh Golf Club - All Weather Driving RangeBetter still… you get your car serviced twice a year, similarly in golf you should also get your golf game checked by our team of Certified PGA professionals. For as little as $66, you can have a ½ hour lesson that involves having your swing video analysed with afocus on putting stroke. Or for a more technical perspective on your swing, try a one hour Trackman lesson priced at just $145. This continues to give our customers unbelievable results after just one session!

For those of you that have done the hard work on the range and want to play some golf, jump in the car and head West to some outstanding dry golf courses which offer incredible value for money.

I would start off your journey early for a 3 hour drive to Mudgee Golf Club where you’ll find a great tree lined course with only 3 bunkers and terrific greens. Finish your rounds by 2 pm and head out to a couple of the local wineries in the area. Finally to finish up your day, I suggest a mouthwatering dinner at the Lawson Hotel.

A few of these places might resonate with you if you have been watching channel 9’s Doctor Doctor with their coverage in Mudgee recently.

Up early the next day, it is well worth a 90 minute drive to Dubbo Zoo. There you can hire the bikes to take a leisurely 3 hour look around the best open range zoo in Australia.

Then, straight across the road onto the Newell Highway is the 27 hole Dubbo Golf Club where Craig and his team will look after you. Tip: Rose Garden Thai for dinner – just delicious!

Heading back, you can go via the Mitchell Highway, taking a drive through Wellington and turn right to Wellington Caves where there is a quality 18 hole grass green course all to yourself. For some accommodation that night, stay somewhere in the picturesque area of Orange where there are many quality hotels and restaurants. In the morning, you can head off to play more golf with a choice of places including the Duntryleague Golf Club with couch fairways, or else Wentworth Golf Club.

Further on your travels back to Sydney, as you enter Bathurst, steer off on your right to Bathurst Golf Club, the place where they are currently holding the NSW Senior Amateur Championships, a fine course.
